Sr. Data Engineer


Sr. Data Engineer for St. Louis, MO to lead design & implementation of data pipeline architecture; identify data solutions to meet business capability needs & processes; develop & maintain continuous integration processes and infrastructure; facilitate end-to-end pipeline orchestration; write, maintain & review software code; develop architecture & deployment strategy to automate data aggregation; mentor & coach junior team members; drive improvements to internal processes; lead discussions with product management stakeholders; apply agile principles to data engineering projects. Requires Master’s in Applied Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or closely-related field & 2 yrs experience designing logical & physical models for datasets; building semantic data layers using fit-for-purpose methodologies, including linked data concept and/or resource description framework; working with NoSQL databases, including Google BigQuery for data warehousing; using object-oriented programming languages, including Unix Shell scripting, Python, Spark, and Scala; extracting & transforming information from relational databases, including MySQL and Oracle, to load into cloud-based data lakes and/or warehouses; using Google Cloud Storage & Google Data Proc for data pipeline orchestration; using SQL to create aggregated tables and materialized & virtualized views; using GitHub and/or bitbucket for version control, branching & merging code; and using Jira, AhA and/or Azure DevOps for project management. Will also accept Bachelor’s in said fields & 5 yrs progressive, post-Bachelor’s stated experience. Telecommuting permitted from home office location anywhere in the U.S. Salary Range: Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $142,000.00 to $160,000.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. The offered salary may vary within this range based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
