Known as “Home of the Fieldtray,” we invite guests to “Eat What Comes Natural”—bold, vibrant, honest food built around fresh produce, sustainably sourced meats and fish, and nearly 100% biodegradable packaging. With 15 London locations and rapid expansion, we’re now bringing our mission to NYC in 2025, aiming to redefine fast‑casual dining with integrity, flavor, and civic-minded hospitality. 

Job Overview 

Food & Customer Service is our focus – we give a fork! As a member of our Kitchen Team,  you’re an important part of the guest experience: often the friendly face behind the counter! You’ll prepare and serve food with care, keep the kitchen and service areas clean and organized, and help maintain smooth, fast service. Kitchen team members are trained to handle multiple roles to support both back-of-house prep and guest-facing service, ensuring every meal meets Farmer J’s high standards for quality and hospitality.  

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve menu items accurately and efficiently to recipe and quality standards

• Deliver friendly, confident customer service when working front of house

• Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and organization

• Stock, rotate, and handle ingredients correctly (FIFO) to ensure freshness

• Receive and check deliveries for accuracy and quality

• Communicate clearly with teammates and guests

• Support cleaning, closing, and other duties as needed during service

Qualifications 

• 1 year cooking in high-volume, high-quality fast-casual or café-style restaurants  

• Comfortable using tools like Toast, Microsoft Office, and other basic systems  

• Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards  

• Appreciation for real food: scratch cooking, seasonal ingredients, and sustainable practices  

• Clear, positive communicator with a team-first mindset  

• Calm under pressure and quick to adapt in a fast-paced, hands-on environment  

• Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English  

• Follow written and verbal instructions and have basic math and computer skills  

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business require
